Lao Project Funded by Chinese Loan Signed
A Contract Agreement was signed between CCC Engineering Ltd.(CCCE) and Electricite du Laos(EdL) on Tuesday, 15th March, 2011 for the Project of EXTENSION AND UPGRADING TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM IN VIENTIANE CAPITAL AND SARAVAN PROVINCE. The value of the Contract is USD34,650,000.00, which is equivalent to Chinese Renminbi Yuan 227 million or so. The project is funded by Chinese Government Concessional Loan provided through the Export-Import Bank of China. The period of the project is twenty four (24) months.
Vientiane Capital, as municipality directly under the central government, is located in central Laos, while Saravan is a province located southern. The work scope of the Project includes upgrading distribution system in Vientiane Capital, 2nd circuit of 115kV transmission line extension from Xeset to Saravan, transmission line bay extension at 115kV Xeset substation, as well as transmission line bay extension & transformer upgrading at 115kV Saravan substation. To meet expanding electricity demand in Vientiane Capital and enhance transmission capacity of power grid in Saravan province due to fast and widespread economic growth which both provincial areas are experiencing, the Project is urgent, as acknowledged by both partis.
"It's our fourth project in Laos. We'll accord great importance to the Project by using our advantaged resources to ensure it a smooth completion in conformity with the schedule," CCCE Director and President Mr. Yan Wei said.
The Project will be implemented jointly by CCCE and Jiangsu ETERN Co., Ltd..
