On December 13, 2012, CCC Engineering Limited (CCCE) and Ministry of Energy, Republic of Kenya officially signed the Contract for KENYA POWER TRANSMISSION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (GARISSA TO WAJIR 220KV & NYAHURURU TO MARALAL 132KV). CCCE’s President, Mr. Yan Wei; Vice Presidents, Mr. Song Deming and Mr. Mu Maowu; Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Energy, Republic of Kenya, ENG. JOEL M. KIILU; and President of Kenya Electricity Transmission Company LTD attended the signing ceremony.

This project has been co-contracted by we CCCE and China National Machinery Import & Export Corporation, and will start in 2013. The contract amount reaches up to RMB623,744,542.66.  This is a Chinese government preferential loan project, with 27 months construction period. The working scope includes transmission line of 392km route length and extension of 5 substations.
