On July 9, 2022, Ms. Patricie Uwase, Minister of State Infrastructure of Rwanda, and Mr. Ron Weiss, CEO of Rwanda Energy Group attended the completion ceremony of the Nyabihu (110/30kV) substation and its 110kV transmission line to Mukungwa. The Nyabihu (110 / 30kV) substation project is executed by CCC Engineering Ltd in Rwanda.

The commissioning of this project will significantly reduce power outages and fluctuations in the Nyabihu, Rubavu, Musanze, Ngororero and Muhanga districts. The project has greatly alleviated the power shortage in Nyabihu and the surrounding adjacent areas, while providing energy security for the economic development of the area.

Rwanda State Minister of Infrastructure Ms Patricie Uwase highly praised this project. The power station will increase the distribution of electricity in the region and encourage the local industries, and it is a part of the Rwandan government's strategy to expand the grid to meet its needs and keep pace with the country's development.
